
Yumthang is a picturesque valley located in the northeastern part of Sikkim, often referred to as the "Valley of Flowers." Situated at an altitude of around 11,800 feet, Yumthang is known for its stunning natural beauty, with lush meadows, vibrant alpine flowers, and snow-capped mountains. The valley is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna, making it a paradise for nature lovers and photographers. Yumthang is also famous for the Yumthang Hot Springs, believed to have medicinal properties. The area is a popular base for trekking and is surrounded by beautiful rhododendron forests. Visitors can also enjoy panoramic views of the Shimbho and Pauhunri peaks. The valley is accessible from Lachen, and the best time to visit is during the spring and summer months when the flowers are in full bloom.
